Latest News Boston Marathon Bombing:
Earlier, CNN reported that a suspect was in custody, according to Boston and U.S. law enforcement. This was later retracted. Investigators believe they have spotted a suspect in the Boston Marathon Bombing from security footage, but no arrests have been made.
Shortly after CNN reported the false arrest, security officials of the Boston federal courThouse ordered staff, attorneys and media to evacuate the building.
Boston Marathon Bombing: Crime Scene Photos
After investigators inspected shards of metal, fabric, wires and a battery recovered from the crime scene, the bombs appear to be homemade. They were placed in pressure cooker pots and taken to the scene in black nylon backpacks to the finish line. A pressure cooker lid was found on top of the Charlesmark Hotel, located 30 yards away from the explosion site, showing the force of the blast.
One picture shows a few inches of charred wire attached to a small box, and another one shows a half-inch nail and a zipper head stained with blood. In another crime scene photo we see a Tenergy Brand battery attached to red and black wires through a broken plastic cap, you can also see the pressure cooker lid.
Boston Marathon Bombing: Suspects, Videos, Photos
News spread fast that the Boston Marathon Bombing happened on the same day as a “Controlled Explosion” drill by the Boston Bomb Squad, that appeared on the Boston.com Twitter feed.
Officials: There will be a controlled explosion opposite the library within one minute as part of bomb squad activities.
— Boston.com News (@BostonDotCom) April 15, 2013
However, it seems like the bomb squad just detonated suspicious backpacks or another bomb that was located. In this article we read:
“Some people believe this explosion might have been part of the demolition of another bomb. It seems unlikely, however, that a bomb at the library, one mile away, could be so quickly located and rigged to be exploded by the bomb squad in less than one hour following the initial explosions at the marathon.”
Is there evidence that the Bomb Squads had prior knowledge?
Alastair Stevenson, who is a cross-country track coach at the University of Mobile reported:
“At the starting line this morning, they had bomb sniffing dogs and the bomb squad out there,” he said. “They kept announcing to runners not to be alarmed, that they were running a training exercise.”
“I’ve run a lot of races like this one, but I never saw bomb dogs at the starting line of any running event.”
Alastair Stevenson stated in an interview, that he saw law enforcement spotters on the roofs at the start of the race.
All of America’s security forces were present; Law Enforcement Spotters, Bomb sniffing dogs, the National Guard, apparently they even ran a drill beforehand.
Ask yourself this question: Is it possible for a bomb squad to locate, analyze, and detonate a third bomb in less than an hour? The Kennedy Presidential Library is over a mile away from the marathon.
Boston Police Department Public Information Bureau Chief Cheryl Fiandaca, stated that the incident was “fire related.” According to the JFK Library’s official Twitter account, the fire was put out by 6:23 p.m. Monday evening.
Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis told the AP earlier that the fire may have been caused by an incendiary device, but it is unclear if it was related to the explosions at the Boston Marathon finish line.
Did somebody make a anonymous phone call, warning of possible bombs at the event or threatening to bomb the marathon?
If that is true why didn’t the Boston police cancel the marathon or try to warn runners about the security threat?
Possible Suspects – Persons of Interest Boston Marathon
Independent researchers have taken it upon themselves to identify persons of interest or possible suspects of the Boston Marathon Bombing. Just like in December 2012, shortly after the Sandy Hook Elementary Shooting, users of various forums got together to share and compare information, photos and videos.
Today, the websites 4chan and Reddit did an outstanding job, analyzing the information by examining thousands of photos from the day. 4chan and Reddit community used photos of victims, fans and news agencies. They analyzed various people holding black backpacks that were similar to the evidence or people who acted in a “suspicious” manner near the crime scene.
Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Moderators on the Reddit thread urged members and the public to use caution when identifying potential suspects. The investigative album, created by 4chan users received 2,037,932 views in just 20 hours.
The possible suspects in the above photos are already on a recent news report, the video has been pulled by youtube. I will try to find a replacement.
The possible suspect in the photo above, claims that he is innocent on his Facebook Profile:
“Going to court right now!! Shit is real. But you will see guys I did not do anything.”
The posts on his Facebook profile have disappeared. There was also a post from Monday where he talked about his injured friend being hospitalized that has been deleted. In the comments, lawyers were already offering their service.
CNN seems to have picked up on the story:
Investigators have pinpointed two men as “possible suspects” who were seen in images near the finish line of this week’s Boston Marathon — moments before twin bombs there exploded, killing three and injuring about 180 others — a law enforcement official said. A circular sent out Wednesday to federal and state agencies features the photos “in an attempt to identify the individuals,” who were described as being of “high interest” to investigators.
